Coco Gauff’s Coach Brad Gilbert Honestly Judges American Politician and Tennis Buff Vivek Ramaswamy’s Skills On-Court

Imagine playing tennis for fun, only to catch the attention of the coach of a world no. 6 tennis player! That’s what happened to the American politician and entrepreneur, Vivek Ramaswamy, who was playing with his racquet during his morning routine when suddenly, Coco Gauff’s coach, Brad Gilbert, came into the picture! The former World No. 4 tennis player shared his honest verdict, rating the 39-year-old’s tennis skills!

Surprisingly, the American politician and founder of Roviant Sciences, took to his X and posted a glimpse of his tennis skills through a video, the caption of which reads, “Early morning grilling at Ohio State tennis. Works better than coffee.” In a red t-shirt and white shorts, Ramaswamy was hitting the racquet with full force on a tennis court and ended up winning at the end, which put a bright smile on his face!

However, it seems like Gilbert, who has been coaching players since 1994 and has guided Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, and Andre Agassi, couldn’t help but share his candid remarks on Ramaswamy’s tennis skills. The former American player took to his X and commented, “good footwork low take back on fearhand.” The 20 singles title winner, Gilbert, who has been coaching Coco Gauff since last year and has guided her to win her first grand slam, seems to be impressed with Ramaswamy’s casual swing. However, a few days ago, the scenario was a bit different for Gilbert!

It has hardly been two weeks since we saw the US Open’s defending champion Coco Gauff’s shocking exit from New York from the round-of-16 match. While her consistent sloppy performances in the singles matches of the season came under scrutiny from fans, Gauff’s coach quickly dismissed the criticism and praised her for her overall great performances.

“It’s been a good 14 months… she’s accomplished a lot and the great thing is, she has huge upside at 20… Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great tournament for her..” However, besides Gilbert, there is one other player on the horizon who has openly suggested taking up the role of the 20-year-old’s coaching responsibility!

Nick Kyrgios is willing to coach Coco Gauff!
Since her semifinal exit in the French Open earlier this year, Coco Gauff has been struggling to enter a QF of another event. An early-round loss in all the events of the Paris Olympics further deepened her frustration. Now adding a round of 16 defeat at Wimbledon and her inability to defend the title in the Cincinnati Masters has furthered her misery. Therefore, after her US Open exit, among many, one fan advised Coco Gauff to ‘sack’ Gilbert and take up a new coach.

But in a surprising turn when the Aussie player, Nick Kyrgios, jumped into the conversation and offered his honest take! “My honest advice to @CocoGauff is to sack @bgtennisnation. He became Gauff head coach in November 2023, and her game has regressed since then. Brad loves himself more than anyone else, and that doesn’t work if you are a head coach.”

When another fan suggested Kyrgios take up the job, Kyrgios added, “I’d coach her.” However, it seems Gilbert will continue his coaching relationship with Gauff and also entertain us by providing his valuable analysis of tennis skills from time to time!
